Not by Chance
How many times have we set out to do something and someone wishes us “good luck”? We know what they mean. They’re pulling for us. They’re hoping we do well in achieving whatever it is that we’re doing. But really, what can “luck” do for you? Pretty much, not a thing. Luck is not an entity. It’s actually just hoping and wishing. What you’re really wanting is God’s grace to fall on you in a certain way. God IS an entity. He has the ability to give you supernatural favor in a situation if it’s His will.
There’s the rub. Our will isn’t always God’s perfect will for us. We want it to be. We try to make it be, but sometimes it isn’t. If we truly want the best possible outcome, we want God’s will for our lives. Things don’t happen by accident. It’s not a random unthought mistake that you’re alive at this time in history. God purposely ordained you for the life you have. He’s got big plans for you! ”Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.“ (Isaiah 46:10 NLT)
This is not wishing! This is the Lord declaring what will be. If we invite Him to be Lord of our lives, He accepts responsibility for us. He wants to join our way of thinking to His. In this way, we will want to walk in step with Him because we understand that there’s a higher purpose for us on this planet than just existing. We’re not just here to take up oxygen. When you understand the value that God places on your life, it changes everything. You walk, talk and think with purpose. You understand that He is going to cross your path with the right people at the right time. You instinctively know that prayers are heard and get answered. You have more confidence because the One who holds the earth in His hands also takes you by the hand and leads you. ”If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.“ (Psalms 139:9-10 NLT) It all belongs to Him and He can do whatever He wants to with it. Your life has eternal purpose. There is nothing random about it. Ask the Lord to show you glimpses of His glory along ordinary paths. He will. ”If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.“ (Jeremiah 29:13 NLT) Who knows? You might just find some unexpected surprises! God’s got good things in store for those that call Him “Lord”. Your destiny is not by chance.
